How To Obtain Provisional Certificate after FMGE For Internship Transfer Procedure | Medspacedaily

Hey guys,

This is Myr and welcome back to my blog. As always thanks for your support and love as I'm writing more. Today's topic is how to get provisional registration. We'll talk about what is provisional certificate and why you need it and what's the use of it.

Many of you have passed your fmge exam and some of you'll do it very soon. As rules are changing I'm getting queries about process transferring the internship. I already have discussed about it in my previous stories, you can visit my previous post and have a look at the procedure. That is the information i collected from my seniors and also from my personal experience when i was trying to transfer internship but unfortunately didn't happen due to some reasons haha.
So, Let's get started😃. If you already have read that post or you might already know that for internship transfer procedure we need to get the "Provisional Registration" which is issued by our state medical council.

What's the procedure?

You will only need it when you are sure to transfer the internship, not otherwise. And let me tell you that the process is different for different medical councils. Here I'm talking about few common steps (mainly about GMC) and requirements that you need to know, other differences you'll know by yourself when you'll visit the council website.

First of all you have to register an online account on your medical council website (for some councils it may be offline registration process).

Login into your account and you'll find the option "Registration for Foreign Medical Graduates". click on this and you'll find two options "Permanent Registration" and "Provisional Registration".

Click on "Provisional Registration" option and your process for registration will begin from here. You'll find a checklist for the documents which you'll need to take with yourself on the date of appointment for the verification. Among them first will be Birth certificate and school LC. You can select any one of that. For other options mark for the documents which you have and those which are mandatory for you to get the provisional registration. There will option for a DRAFT. Make the draft in the name of Secretory of secondary and higher secondary education board of your state or CBSE board (the amount may vary for different boards). I'll add the table for checklist soon.

After selecting the documents you can save and move to next step. Next step is for filling up "Application Form". Fill up the necessary information in the application form like your personal details, address, passport and visa details, your 10th/11th/12th board result details, screening test result, name of your collage/university and year of graduation. There will be a small table of "OVIR" in the application form you can add your collage name, student id, and start to end date of graduation, otherwise you can leave it empty as it's not mandatory. At the end you'll have to add your photograph and signature in the form.

After filling up the form you can save and move to next step which is of making Payment. If you're not in hurry you can pay registration fee later as your above steps of application form will be saved into server and you'll be able you access it when you come back later. Provisional Registration fee for Foreign graduates is approximately 5500/6500 rupees. After making payment online you will get your payment id and an option to select an "Appointment Date"

After selecting the appointment date you'll find the options to download Application form, Acknowledgement and Receipt of payment. Download and print them out.

Appointment Day

Before reaching to the destination there are few things you should keep in mind that will save so much of your time. Reach early to the council (around 10:30) because later on many people will come and if you're late you may have to be in line just for 10 minute of work. Arranging the documents in order as mentioned in the checklist will help your and their time and also it'll save you from getting scolded by them haha.

After getting the procedure completed you'll have to wait for few days (approximately 10-15 days for GMC) to get the certificate delivered at your home. Also start the procedure of finding hospital and getting transfer letter from the University because it'll help you save your time (may be you can join the internship and ask them to wait for you to submit provisional certificate for few weeks, it depends completely on collage/hospital rules).

If you want to know more about internship transfer procedure you can search for it on my website as i already have written about in my previous posts.

[IMPORTANT] Make sure you get this Provisional registration only if you're going to transfer for sure. if not, there's no need for it and you may have to get involved in few more processes while getting Permanent registration.

This information is based completely on my experience, it may vary depending on requirements. I hope it'll be helpful for you and make your process little easy and faster. Please let me know if something is wrong or about any changes, your suggestions are welcomed.

Thanks for visiting. Please leave your suggestions in comment box and let me know what should be the next story. Keep supporting and don't forget to Subscribe😊 ( Subscribe button on top of the page).
