First COVID- 19 test kit approved by US FDA for Home use.

The first COVID-19 test kit has been given emergency authorization by US Food And Drug Administration (FDA) for home use on Tuesday.

As we already have the good news from two vaccine production companies, among them Pfizer Inc vaccine which is 90% effective and Moderna Inc is 94.5% effective which has given hope to fight the situation much better, this testing kit is an add on factor to that.

This kit is developed by Lucira Health, which is a single use testing kit which can be used with Nasal Swabs collected by individuals who're suspected of being positive for COVID-19 disease by their family doctor. the person's age should be 14 or more than that. the kit can also be used at health centers and hospitals where the samples must be collected by healthcare providers if the age of individual is less than of 14 year old.

Jeff Shuren, the director of FDA Center for Devices and Radiological Health said, "We look forward to proactively working with test developers to support the availability of more at home test options"

This is the great news for people who feel anxiety or feel uncomfortable of going to the testing center and also it can save people from getting contracting the disease. Moreover, The kit shows results in just 30 minutes.
