What Is Pomodoro Technique ?

Hey people, Welcome back to Medspacedaily. Today out topic is "Pomodoro Technique". We'll look into a little bit of history about it and then we'll see what is the actual method and with what type of different variations people use this technique for their studies, work and daily goals.

As you know, It gets really difficult to keep focused on our work when we're surrounded by different tasks, people and social media. We all try so hard not to touch our phone while we're studying or doing some important work but can't help it sometimes😁. Even these days most of the education is getting app based and online, it's easy to get distracted and we end up wasting our most valuable time.

Here comes this an amazing technique to keep yourself focused and manage your time efficiently and help you to finish your work in enough time and keep you accountable of your tasks. Yes, I'm talking about the very well known "Pomodoro Technique".

Francisco cirillo developed this time-management technique in late 1980s. This method uses timer to break down the time into intervals which are usually 25 minutes long and there are certain short breaks (approximately 3-5 minutes) included inbetween. each of the intervals is called pomodoro, the word which came from italian word "tomato" named after tomato shaped kitchen timer which cirillo used for time-management when he was a university student.

Many online apps and software use this method to help people focus and efficient time-management for their daily tasks. Traditionally it's 4 cycle of focus and 5 minute break which is followed by a big 15-20 minute break and again repeat the same.

People usually make variations to this technique depending on their requirements for focusing for their tasks.

Some people work/study for 50/90 minutes followed by 5 minutes of break and repeat the cycle for 3-4 times. This method simulates natural concentration method.

Some follow this method inbetween the meetings or their daily routine work. This is like working in natural time cycle.

Another type of variation people like to follow is the time during which they are highly productive and make it a systemic productivity cycle.

Above mentioned methods of Pomodoro technique does include principles of focusing in natural environment and help acquire enough productivity. People use these methods as they are comfortable.

There are many applications and software available online which can help you focus, meditate and be productive with your daily routine. Two of them which i know are forest app (paid) and tide app (free) whichever you like you can use. I personally use tide app because it's free and i haven't tried forest app yet but i know many people who use it and find it very helpful to them.

Thank you for reading this. I hope you like this article and if you find it useful please share it with your friends. Let me know in comment box which app and method do you prefer for focusing and concentrate well and what workout well for you?
