Hey Friends,
Welcome back to our channel. Last story i wrote was about winters in Shenyang and i wrote it on January 5th this year. We all were expecting a pleasant end to the winters but it was not as we all expected, actually it was the worst ever. Most of us came back to India and thought to enjoy the holidays. Even when it was very serious situation in china, we were very much relaxed after arriving to India. I remember the last few days i spent there being confused whether to go back to my home country or to stay in china. as it was my cousin brother's marriage in February and my flight to India was already booked. so, i had to go but i knew that i may get the virus while travelling. that time travelling was the main source of spreading the disease.
I don't know why i was getting all that traveling anxiety and all may be it was because i was reading so many news everyday about the situation. the hike in the cases everyday and the sources of the infection. Even they were giving information about the trains and flights in which already infected people traveled.
And finally i took the decision to travel and go back to home. Fortunately the hospital administration also declared the holidays from the day i was leaving china. I packed my bags, informed the administration and started my journey. You won't believe that was most scariest journey of my life. I took the taxi to the airport. Everyone had covered their face with masks. And it was different feeling while leaving during this time (may be like getting yourself evacuated) and there was very less people at the airport as compared to other days. Many people already left the country few days ago after Wuhan lock down. I checked my flight details and it was some time for flight to take off. So, me and my friend waited outside the airport for a while. It was extreme cold out there. the was a chinese man along with him was her cute little daughter (of course Chinese kids are very cute haha) who were going to some other place tried to have a conversation with us. We spent some time there, while staying i noticed and thought many of this rich people would be able to evacuate themselves from this situation but what about poor...
Anyways, We went inside and i checked in my language bag and said good bye to my best friend who had already decided to stay in china. I went to stand in line for security check and from here the weird journey begins. There was a security personnel standing with a gun like thing (Thermal scan for temperature measurement) which i saw first time at the airport and i was getting the real epidemic feeling haha. It was like a war zone and a civilian had to have his journey from there. I got my security check done headed toward the boarding gate. I had may be half an hour to board my flight. I already decided that i will stay away from any group of people or keep little distance from any individual. I was standing there for more than half hour with my heavy bags knowing that there were few empty seats just to stay away from people. Because you never know who's carrying the damn thing😑. After long waiting i boarded the flight and in the flight i was lucky to get single seat haha. I slept for a while thinking what i'll do next in chengdu which was my next destination. Suddenly i woke up and saw that the air-hostess was trying to wake me up for serving the meal. I refused meal and asked for a coffee which was must needed that time. After five hour of journey i reached to chengdu domestic airport. I got my language bag from there and started searching ways to transfer to the international airport.
At the chengdu domestic airport it was big rush of people. I was not expecting that many people at the airport during that time. I went outside to get the taxi and when i saw the line i was like wth.... it was a huge line(i can say big crowd) waiting to get the taxi. You know what comes to your brain when you see huge crowd during the epidemic period. May be that people were not aware of the depth and seriousness of the situation...may be..! There was another option for me to take the shuttle bus but it was not very much satisfying to me. So, i decided to transfer the airport by walk. I reached the international terminal in 10 to 15 minutes. Again i had to go through the thermal temperature checking to enter inside. Believe me nothing was more satisfying than being allowed to enter in after getting the temperature checked😅.
I had to wait there for 3-4 hours because my indigo flight was scheduled for morning 6 am. There also i kept the distance from people, got my bags checked in and got my security check done. Before going through security check i went to get some water to drink. Suddenly my specs fall on the ground. I literally thought twice before picking it up and putting it back on my face (result of reading so many articles related to current situation before starting the journey😆). I got my security check done and after a while boarded in on flight. While waiting outside i saw the indigo crew members covered their faces with the masks but i couldn’t see masks on same crew member’s faces while on flight. I was thinking how can they be so irresponsible? Or they don't have enough knowledge that a virus can infect anyone anywhere. Even i saw some overconfident people roaming around at the airport without mask. Anyways i didn't have enough masks to distribute among them haha.
Finally, i reached delhi in morning after another five hour flight journey.that time in our country no-one was having mask in their pockets (having it on face is a separate issue). Even i felt like throwing the mask away after getting there. It's a complete satisfactory feeling getting rid of such a horrible thing. After getting out we had to pass through the thermal screening at the delhi airport which was the last screening i had to go through. Then i collected my bags and rushed toward the exit gates. There i used the the telephone to let my family know that i have reached to delhi.
Now, i was in search of a descent food. I found a shop named ‘Mumbai Central’ inside the airport. They had some good dishes but i selected poha and Tea. Only tea lovers know that nothing can beat this combination for morning breakfast. It was not morning that time but still i was in mood to have breakfast and Indian Tea. I have mentioned this here because if someday someone would want to eat, you can definitely try it because the food almost taste like home made one.
I had train to my city in evening. So, i decided to stay whole day there at the airport and in the noon i left for the railway station. It was very comfortable overnight journey for 12-13 hours in the air-conditioning coach. I reached my city in morning around 6-7 am. By the way i kept wearing mask during whole journey till home.
Finally the journey and the anxiety got over. It's a different thing that i had to deal with so many questions and blames about the recent things happening these days😀. I think everyone of you might have been through almost same journey and got stuck in this lock down waiting for allowance to go back to the same place again and the situation to get back to normal again.
Let's hope for the Best for our country, world and everyone's health🙏
